Race 2 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)

A very interesting race, and the betting suggests that hot favourite Marquez at 5/10 should win easily. However, this is his first race in Fairview and is coming off a 6 month break so he may need this run. We are looking for some value and we like Hat Hot Hat, who has put in some solid runs lately and we recommend a small eachway bet.

Race 3 – 1600m (Open Maiden)

Open maiden handicap and weight will play a massive part in this encounter. Elusive Mata has been running well and is in a good space. With just 53kgs, the three year old filly is a top contender to finally get her first win.

Race 4 – 1600m (Classified Stakes)

Based on weight turnarounds, Meetatthewindsor should have the beating of his rivals here and we will be surprised if he gets beats.

Race 5 – 1900m

Gideon’s Daughter takes a slight drop in class here, and although she carries top weight, he should be too good for this field. With top jock Richard Fourie in the saddle, another win is very likely.

Race 6 – 1000m

Global Goddess was boxed in, in her last start at the 200m, and with better luck in running she should finish closer. With the apprentice claim and now just carrying 53kgs in a 1000m sprint, she represents excellent value.

Race 7 – 1200m

Very competitive race but we in the camp of the consistent Donny Tee. Stablemate Gimmie’s Laddie is the favourite, but we believe Donny Tee represents the value. Ignore his last start, and you will see his in fantastic form and a big runner.

Race 8 – 1400m

Pompei Warning has done well ever since moving to the Eastern Cape and has 2 wins and a place from 6 starts. His jockey felt something amiss in his last start, and based on prior attractive form, he should be competitive in the lucky last.
