Tuesday’s horse racing action is available from the Eastern Cape, with an eight-race program from the Fairview Poly track. Racing begins at 12:35 and includes a FM 70 Handicap event in Race 8. Fairview Poly Selections
Race 1 – 1200m (Open Maiden)
Consigliere was unlucky not to win his last start, as he was bumped at the 300m and 100m mark. It is an open maiden race, so remember that weight will play a role, and I am happy to back the three-year-old. In his favour is the appie claim, so he carries just 56kgs. He has fair form, and from a pole draw, he should finish in the money.

Race 2 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
Sundrop is a battling maiden who has not won in 35 starts. However, she does run well and generally finishes in the money. Her last start was impressive when she finished third against winners. The 4kg claim should help her finish in the top three. I like her EW value for a place finish.

Race 3 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
King Of Queen has finished second in each of his last six starts. His maiden win is around the corner, and I believe he will finally win here. Carrying just 56kgs, and from draw 1, he should be too good for this field.

Race 4 – 1900m (MR 66 Handicap)
Soft Touch looked like she would finally win again in her last start but was pipped at the finish. She has decent form and carries no weight in this race. With just 48kgs on her back, she can provide a strong challenge to her male rivals.

Race 5 – 1000m (FM 66 Handicap)
I like Global Goddess to run well in this sprint race. She is weighted to beat the favourite, Jade’s Caberneigh, and with 52kgs, she could be hard to catch. She has moderate form, but her low weight is a big advantage. Although she has a wide draw to overcome, if she can get to the front, she could hold on at the finish, with some luck.

Race 6 – 1000m (MR 68 Handicap)
Mr Bodacious has fair form and gets the services of the appie claim here, so he carries 55.5kgs. He enjoys racing from the front, and with the 4kgs off his back, he could be hard to catch at the final 200m. With some luck in running, I expect him to fight out the finish.

American Dream followed up his back-to-back wins with a decent fourth against stronger horses. He takes a drop in class here and can be competitive. With 58kgs, he can show his quality and continue his impressive form.

Race 8 – 1300m (FM 70 Handicap)
I am taking a chance with a double-digit outsider in the lucky last. Can’t Say No followed up her maiden win with another impressive win in this class. She ran well in a listed event in her last start and is now back in handicap company. Unfortunately, she is not the stable elect, but she can provide an upset. She is still a two-year-old and is open to further improvement. An ultra-consistent filly, she has finished in the money in all six of her career starts. I love her EW value, and for three places, she can send us home happy.
