A very tough race to call here, with all these horses having moderate form. With 2 year olds, there will always be improvement to come, so any of these runners can pop up here. Cape Capri has run into the money in both of his starts, so we will back him to do the same again.

Race 3 – 1400m (Maiden Plate)
Another short odds favourite here in Care Forgot who leads the betting boards at 9/10. Those are too short odds to back, so we went searching for value, and found Tipperary. The Gauteng raider gets the services of Rachael Venniker, and with just 54.5kgs, she should be competitive, provided she has settled in KZN.

Race 4 – 1400m (MR 84 Handicap)
We like Imposing here, he was once rated 102, and seems to enjoy racing at Scottsville (2 runs, 1 win & 1 fourth). He ran a cracker in his last start and win, and should be competitive again.

Race 5 – 1200m (MR 94 Handicap)
Shipholia is back from a 214 day break and gets the services of Richard Fourie. She has previously won after coming back from a long break, and if ready to go, she should fight out the finish and get a hattrick of wins.

Race 6 – 1200m (MR 98 Handicap)
Good Traveller is a class horse and has been running in Pinnacles leading up to the bigger races in KZN over the next few months. He runs well for Rachael Venniker, and that 1.5kg claim should make him competitive.

Race 7 – 1500m (Pinnacle Stakes)
Royal Victory is one of the best horses in South Africa, and is a worthy contender for the Durban July later this year. He ideally prefers further but will be using this run in his prep for the big day. He is a class horse, a multiple grade 1 winner and in terrific form and should run well here.

Race 8 – 1950m (MR 78 Handicap)
The get out stakes, and we went looking for a big price horse. We found Pongola, who is not too consistent, but she’s in good form currently. She has finished third in both of her last two starts over the mile at Scottsville. She now goes further, and she looks like she wanted further, and with the 1.5kg claim, she’s a lively outsider.
