Race 1 – 1400m (Maiden Juvenile Plate)
Milan’s World produced a decent debut run and finished close behind Bacchus. They meet on the same weight terms here, and the value is with Milan’s World. If he can show natural improvement, he should run into the placings.

Pointer has finished in the money in all three of her starts. I think she is a massive runner with the 4kg appie claim. She carries 54kgs and should be hard to beat at the finish if she is leading at the final 300m mark.

Race 5 – 1400m (Maiden Plate)
Mary Read has decent form and is her trainer’s only runner on the day. She gets a top jockey in the saddle, and Piere Strydom could get the best out of her. She has a wide draw to overcome, but she should run into the money with some luck.

Race 6 – 1800m (MR 80 Handicap)
Slivano’s Song has dropped to a competitive mark and is ready to win again. He did not see the 2400m last time and should enjoy the 1800m distance. He has fair form, and with some luck in running, he can go close and hopefully win.

Race 7 – 1000m (Middle Stakes)
I am taking a chance with a big odds horse in this Middle Stakes race. It is a competitive race, so you should go wide in the exotics. Rollwiththepunches has lost his best form and is struggling. However, he was once an MR 112 and has now dropped to an MR 100. He has been rested for four months, and that break could be what he needed. He is a very speedy horse and gets off the block fast. If he is fit and ready, he could provide an upset here. I hope he can show some glimpses of his best, and if he shows that form, he will win.

Race 8 – 1000m (MR 79 Handicap)
In The Ether has fair form and always runs well. The five-year-old mare carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and has upset potential. I like her EW odds, and with three places on offer, she can give us some returns to end the weekend in style.
