Greyville Selections
Race 1 – 1400m (Maiden Juvenile Plate)
The Ghost was not disgraced in her last start against winners and in a Grade 3. She is back in maiden company here and should love the step up to 1400m. We believe she should be competitive and run into the money.

Race 2 – 1000m (Maiden Plate)
Still, a maiden after 12 runs, Future Flo is a model of consistency, yet he always seems to find a couple better than him. It is only a matter of time before he breaks his duck and finally wins a race. He gets the services of Richard Fourie here, and should he overcome his wide draw, he should run into the money again.

Race 3 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
Rhydian should take a power of beating here and is the obvious banker in the PA. At 5/10, he is not worth a bet, so we went looking for eachway value and found Karoo Gold. He has decent form lines, and he should finish in the placings from a good draw of 2.

Race 4 – 1600m (MR 78 Handicap)
Spelling Bee is an interesting runner in this race. He came to KZN, shed his maiden, and immediately followed up with a fair run in an MR 94 race. Now he is running in an MR 78 race and should love this type of opposition. Coming from a tougher race in a better class, he represents excellent eachway value.

Race 5 – 2400m (Listed Handicap)
It is another competitive race, and finding a winner is difficult. Nebraas found some good form in the Western Cape earlier this year but struggled in the highveld. He is getting up in age now as a seven-year-old, but he’s a top horse and is being primed for the bigger races in July. He enjoys running on the course, and the 2400m should be no problem. We believe he represents excellent eachway value.

Race 6 – 2000m (Woolavington Grade 1)
It is a brilliant lineup for this great race, and many have solid claims for the big victory. We are in the camp of Frances Ethel, who has quickly emerged as a star in the making. She has an exceptional record (5 runs, four wins and a second) and is currently on a run of four successive victories, with her last win a Grade 2. Provided she has settled in KZN, she is the one to beat in this race.

Race 7 – 2000m (Daily News 2000 Grade 1)
Green With Envy is a top-quality horse on course to be the betting favourite for the 2024 Durban July. He has improved in his races and is searching for a fourth straight Graded victory. At 65/100, he should take a power of beating here, and he is a worthy banker in all exotics, including the Pick 6.
However, if you are a reader of our daily predictions, you will know we don’t back odds of below-even money. So we went looking for some eachway value in this race. We found Pure Predator, who is also developing into a top-quality three-year-old. He has solid form and has run into the money in all four of his last Graded starts. His last two runs have been of the highest quality, and he should be competitive here again. He may not be ready to beat Green With Envy, but he will provide a challenge to him and the others.

Race 8 – 1000m (FM 100 Handicap)
Yet again, it is another competitive race, and many runners have a winning chance. Our tentative eachway selection is Danse Milord. She has solid form to her name and has a strong record over this course and trip. She is taking on stronger here, but she is getting low weight which should help.

Race 9 – 1200m (FM 72 Handicap)
French Princess has decent form and is her trainer’s only runner on the day. She runs well for jockey Muzi Yeni and has one win from 1 start over this course and distance. She gets a handy weight here, and from a mid-draw, she should contest the finish.
