First Masterpiece has won her last two races and is going for the three-peat. She does carry top weight; for that reason, we looked elsewhere. Silver Screen finished 1.4 lengths behind First Masterpiece in their last start but is now 3kgs better at the weights. She has fair form and can upset the odds and run well here.

Race 5 – 1000m (Cape B Stakes)
Swift Action won a good race last time, and that form line has been franked. He faces stronger here but carries a light galloping mass in this sprint. He could be hard to catch if he gets away with a good start.

Race 6 – 1600m (Winter Mile)
It is a competitive race, so go wide in exotics. Zapatillas is the class horse in the race and needed his last start after a ten-month absence. He should strip much fitter now and can run into the money.

Race 7 – 1500m (Grade 3)
One Stripe should win this Grade 3, but at 5/10, he is of no value. Instead, we like the EW odds on All Out For Six, who has won his last two races. He may not be good enough to beat One Stripe, but he can fill the exacta spot and finish second.
