Littleblackgem produced two decent runs in her first two starts. She ran poorly at her last start but was bumped when leaving the gates. We can ignore that run; with the step up to 1400m, she will love the extra distance. Rachel Venniker takes off 1.5kgs, and with 54.5kgs, Littleblackgem can be competitive.

Race 4 – 1600m (MR 68 Handicap)
Pongola has decent form but is always too far back at the last 400m. Rachel Venniker will drop him at the back and switch him off. Hopefully, by the final 400m, he is closer to the frontrunners and can mow them down. He is consistent, and with luck in running, he can finish in the placings.

Race 5 – 1750m (Middle Stakes)
It is a competitive middle stakes race, and we searched for EW value. Lucky Miss is a decent mare who always runs a good race. She is well weighted in this contest and can run into the money. She enjoys racing at Scottsville, and two of her five career wins have come at this track.

It’s a competitive MR 112 sprint, and you should load up in the exotics. Our value bet for this race is Donquerari, the four-year-old gelding. We are in his camp mainly due to the apprentice claim, which makes him competitive with 48.5 kgs. He is taking on stronger in this race, but with that low weight, he could be hard to catch if he starts well.

Many have chances of victory, and a blanket finish is possible. Emerald Green is in decent form and in a good space. She has finished in the money in all of her last five starts. She meets most of her rivals of similar weights so she can continue her fine form with luck in running.

The day closes with yet another tough race. It’s a big field, so we are getting five places for an EW bet. Intrepid ran a good race in his last start against stronger, and gets a 4kg claim here. He has previously won in this class and, with 57kgs, is a leading contender. He can run on well from a good draw of two and fight out the finish.
